Meet the Chef

 About The Pastry Ward”en by Chef Andre Ward CEC®, CWPC®

Chef André Ward is an American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef® (CEC®) and Certified Working Pastry Chef® (CWPC®).  He is a native of Savannah, GA and grew up in a household where cooking was displayed as a joy and passion. 

He served in the US army as a 92G for 24 years.  Throughout his military career, he has had the pleasure of serving four Secretary of Defense’ at Defense Pentagon and provided food-service managerial support for President Barack Obama.   His last duty station was to teach and mentor Joint Military Chefs in The Advanced Culinary Skills Training Course held at The Joint Culinary Center of Excellence Quartermaster Corps, Fort Lee, VA.  Additionally, he has also had the privilege of managing and cooking in some of the US Army’s most prestigious Dining Facilities.  His tours include Fort Drum, NY, Fort Bragg, NC, Korea, Fort Bliss, TX and two tours in Iraq.

Chef Ward has competed in numerous culinary competitions, such as The Culinary World Cup, The IKA Culinary Olympics for the United States Army Culinary Arts Team.  He has competed on The Food Network’s Bakers vs Fakers and is the winner of The Food Network’s Girl Scout Cookie Championship, and Netflix’s Sugar Rush Season 3 Extra Sweet.

Chef Ward graduated with honors from The French Pastry School of Chicago.  His training made him proficient in the art of French Pastry which includes, but not limited to, Breakfast Pastries, Gluten Free Pastries, Petits Fours, Special Cakes, Decorated Cakes, Ice Creams and Sorbets, Tarts, Pies, Chocolate and Sugar Candy Making, Sugar and Chocolate Showpieces.
